factories in ddr became ruins after capitalist re-unification (but it is true, that most of them and theentire cities were in ruinous state before (like in italy!:))... nevermind, without defending ddr economy, they were far more powerful than italy ever was

Fabio, I've worked 10 years for the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Brandenburg, 500.000km'm down in this time of Brandenburg and can sentence based on detailed knowledge and experience on the ground.
There are certainly many errors after the change has been made, but the state of the factories and houses before the turn was just disastrous!
