neither 'italians fought like heroes' - they surrendered en masse to the allied forces - especially after mussolini was arrested and the badoglio government declared armistice.
italian soldiers and officers, who were brave enough NOT to fight more, were taken prisoners, decimated (each tenth shot) and transported to concentration camps in germany - by their former allies, the german nazi-wehrmacht.
what you show here as an 'italian soldier' - is in fact a fascist militia soldier under the comand of the restituted so-called 'repubblica di saló' fighting against his own people!

and you, andrea? with your jewish surname 'manes (= manesse/menasse) fascist authorities in the north of then divided italy would have arrested you...
either german execution commands would have massacred as a hostage (remember 'fosse ardeatine' near rome) or sent you in a mass transport to dachau or buchenwald... or auschwitz.... as happened to so many italians in between 1943-45.
